Who we are
We move music, and we are committed to ensuring that it is heard. We take it from the presses of the record factories to the shelves of the record stores and thus from the artists to their fans.
After four decades in the music industry, we know our business inside out. Our hard work has paid off time and again, and we are proud to say that, as an independent media distributor, Indigo is a key player in the industry.
We maintain strong relationships with our distribution labels and work hand in hand with our retail partners. Because success is most sustainable and most rewarding when it is built together.

Operating from our lively media tower in Hamburg, our experienced team represents some of the finest and most respected independent music and film labels. Many standout music releases make their way onto the market through Indigo and, almost every week, we help one or two of them break into the official charts.
We may have our roots in Hamburg’s merchant heritage, but music is at the heart of everything we do. That is why we excel at championing even the most unconventional genres – and Indigo’s catalogue is full of them! Some of our partner labels belong to large companies, while others operate on a smaller scale and some are dedicated three-person teams. Indigo offers all these companies a suitable framework for the distribution of their products. And we are always happy to accommodate individual requirements.
For larger organisations, we can develop custom distribution solutions that integrate seamlessly into their existing structures. For emerging labels, we can offer support in many areas, and knowledge sharing is a fundamental part of our corporate culture.
Physical media distribution
Indigo provides international media companies with the comprehensive distribution of their music and film content throughout our home markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We reach retailers across other European markets via affiliated partner distributors or our own Euro Shop Network.
As one of the most established indie distributors, our partners benefit from our knowledge and experience – especially when it comes to physical distribution. So we can offer our labels a seamless service chain covering everything from product marketing and traditional retail sales to warehousing and logistics services, as well as modern analytics and comprehensive back office services.
Digital music distribution
Indigo offers music labels and repertoire owners global distribution of their digital music products. We work with the leading digital service providers and all the relevant specialist platforms. Even local services in markets around the world are part of our distribution network.
In-depth knowledge of music catalogues and unconventional creativity are our trademarks, and we excel at marketing even the most niche content.
